The Amazing Urban Safari!. was formed in early 1999 when its founder, Greg "Safari Greg" Carter, discovered that there was a need for quality life sciences entertainment in the schools. Starting from his home office in Nashville, Safari Greg first supplied his programs to local schools, churches, daycares and community organizations. Safari Greg must have found the magic ingredient for success as he was voted as Nashville's best children's entertainer by Parent Magazine in his first year of business! An honor he was voted and unprecedented 6 years in a row! . His unique blend of magic, humor and knowledge of animals has made him the "King of Kids Entertainment" and he plays to packed houses all over the country in such diverse venues as schools, fairs, festivals, churches, fundraisers and corporate events. Currently he travels more than 60,000 miles each year and last year alone performed in 23 states and 2 foreign countries. He co-wrote and performs an award winning program on creative writing using the 6 + 1 writing method and has also written a popular program on anti-bullying. His latest project is a children's television program that he is writing and producing. Greg is originally from the Texas Panhandle where he was from a 5th generation Texas ranching family. He attended Middle Tennessee State University and Texas Tech where he studied animal science and range & wildlife management. He attributes much of his success in the entertainment business to the years spent with his father who was a successful music publisher, producer and artist. |
